1. Foreign tourists do not need to prove a negative PCR test upon entry .
Vaccination certificates are also not required.
2. Foreign tourists who have not completed the required vaccinations will not be required to undergo quarantine
for travel . 1. IMUGA FORMYou must fill in the required information online and submit it within 72 hours of entry/departure. 2. Passport The validity period must be 6 months longer than the number of days of stay. If you are entering the country for tourism purposes, you do not need to apply for a visa in advance. 3. Hotel reservation confirmation A tourist visa valid for up to 30 days will be issued upon entry, so you must bring a document that confirms your resort or hotel reservation. 1. PCR negative certificateA test certificate that proves that you have been tested for the new coronavirus within 72 hours of leaving the Maldives and that you have tested negative. PCR tests are available during your stay at a Maldives resort. 2. Submit a pledge A pledge to comply with the waiting period, etc. 3. Submit a questionnaire 4. Vaccination certificate (for those who wish to relax the waiting period, etc.)
Those who have completed the third vaccination are exempt from home quarantine. *The above can be completed in advance by using the “Fast Track” online quarantine procedure before entering the country.

[Maldives] Resumption of tourist acceptance/div>
The Maldives government announced that it will reopen its borders from July 15, 2020.
As a result, travel restrictions will be lifted and tourism will be possible. The
entry restrictions for travelers from Japan and Japanese passport holders are as follows.
● Upon arrival in the Maldives, a free 30-day tourist visa will be provided.
● Not all tourists will be subject to quarantine measures upon arrival in the Maldives, but
health authorities may conduct random testing. In such cases, the cost of the test is free.
● You must fill out and submit a Health Declaration Card upon arrival.
● Tourists are not required to submit medical test results and health certificates to enter the Maldives.
*However, travelers who have symptoms of COVID-19 must undergo a PCR test
(the cost in this case will be borne by the traveler).

The hurdles to travel appear to be lower than in other countries, such as no PCR test required before travel or at Male Airport.
However, as of now (June 25th), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has placed the Maldives under infectious disease risk level 3 (area subject to entry restrictions), so in addition to being subject to PCR testing at the airport upon returning to Japan, travelers are requested to avoid unnecessary outings and stay at home or their own accommodation

[Maldives] Suspension of visa on arrival
The Maldives government announced today, Friday, March 27, that it will suspend the issuance of arrival visas (visas issued at airports in the Maldives to foreigners who intend to stay for less than 30 days for tourism).
However, there is no mention of the deadline for the suspension.

[Maldives] 3/18 Update: Travel to Male Island and Local Islands
As a measure against the COVID-19, the Maldives government has issued a notice prohibiting travelers from traveling to local islands, including Male and Hulhumale.
Resort-sponsored Male sightseeing and local island excursions have been canceled, and accommodation at guesthouses in Hulhumale is also prohibited.
Only the airport Hulhule hotel is available for accommodation, so you will need to transfer to a Hulhule hotel or transfer to a domestic flight.
In addition, travel between resorts is not permitted, and resort sharing and combination accommodation are also not permitted.

According to information from the local branch, accommodation will be prohibited in city hotels and guesthouses throughout the Maldives, including the airport Hulhule hotel, for 14 days from 3/17. (Resort accommodation is permitted)
