The name of the hotel, “Aliya,” means “elephant” in Sinhala, and the hotel’s design is based on the motif of elephants. The stylish elephant designs in the restaurant, lobby area, and guest rooms all give the hotel a Sri Lankan feel.

One of the attractions of the hotel is the huge, beautiful blue pool overlooking the World Heritage Site, Sigiriya Rock. The guest rooms are divided into cottages, and the interiors are simple and stylish, spacious and comfortable. The attic room (one room with two floors) can accommodate four people. For honeymoons, the deluxe tent, as the name suggests, is a tent-style room that gives you a luxurious camping experience, making it very popular.

The vast grounds are filled with a wide variety of facilities that incorporate both new and old traditions, such as a separate building for Ayurveda, a field where homemade vegetables are grown, objects, restaurants, bars, a huge pool, a karaoke room, a gym, and an exhibition room, so you won’t get bored even if you stay for a long time, and the atmosphere makes you want to stay for several nights and relax. Special arrangements such as chef cooking sessions can also be made.

In a separate building dedicated to Ayurveda, you can enjoy authentic Ayurveda treatments accompanied by a doctor’s consultation, so you will be very satisfied even if you choose a course for a multi-night stay with Ayurveda as the main focus. Even if you only have one Ayurveda experience, you can request a special Ayurveda meal based on a diagnosis by a specialist doctor (additional charges apply).
