Enjoy the best season of the East Coast (Trincomalee) & World Heritage Sites for 6 nights and 8 days *Only available from May to October
♕ Not only will you have the chance to explore the World Heritage Sites, but you can also visit the stunning East Coast (Trincomalee) during its prime season!
Trincomalee, the largest city on the east coast, is a sacred site for Hindus, offering a unique blend of Tamil culture and customs that differ from the Buddhist Sinhalese traditions. The scenery here feels wonderfully exotic, even within Sri Lanka. In recent years, the east coast cities have transformed into resort destinations, yet they still retain a charming, laid-back vibe. The natural beauty of the coastline remains well-preserved, making it a top spot for beach lovers. Trincomalee is gaining popularity as a beach resort, offering activities like diving, snorkeling on uninhabited islands, and whale watching.
So why not visit Trincomalee during the ideal season from May to October, and enjoy not just the world heritage sites and safaris in the Sigiriya area, but also the relaxing beach resorts along the east coast?

|A holiday packed with World Heritage sites, safaris, whale watching, and snorkeling!
1. Be sure to visit the three must-see World Heritage sites!
Sigiriya
Sigiriya Rock in Sri Lanka, believed to be shaped like a lion, still holds remnants of ancient Sri Lankan life, with murals and other traces scattered throughout.
Dambulla Cave Temple
Dambulla Cave Temple is the largest cave temple in Sri Lanka. The golden Buddha statue shining in the shade of a naturally formed rock is one of the most mysterious spaces in Sri Lanka.
Anuradhapura
Anuradhapura is the ancient capital of Sri Lanka and one of its most significant historical sites. The iconic “Ruwanwelisaya” stupa and the “Sri Maha Bodhi,” (meaning “The Great Holy Tree”,) the sacred tree said to be a direct descendant of the original Bodhi (fig) tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment, are must-see landmarks in the city.
2. Experience Hindu culture in the city of Trincomalee!
Prior to the end of the civil war in 2009, even many Sri Lankans found it difficult to visit this city. Unlike the predominantly Buddhist areas of the country, Tamil is widely spoken in Trincomalee, and the city is home to numerous Hindu temples scattered throughout. The atmosphere here is distinct from the western parts of Sri Lanka, offering a unique and exotic vibe!
3. Meet wild animals in the great outdoors!
Jeep Safari in Minneriya National Park
Minneriya National Park is located near the World Heritage Sites of Sigiriya Rock and Dambulla Cave Temple, and is famous for its high chances of meeting wild elephants. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a herd of more than 50 elephants!
By riding in a jeep through rough roads and overgrown trees, you can see elephants and buffaloes bathing in the swamps, and you may also encounter other animals such as peacocks, monkeys, and crocodiles.
Whale Watching in Trincomalee (Optional)
Trincomalee is famous for being able to see dolphins and whales from April to October, especially from July to August. Whale watching boats depart early in the morning and head offshore. Sperm whales, blue whales, bottlenose dolphins, and spotted dolphins are the main inhabitants of this area, and it’s a thrill to see them.

4. Snorkeling on a deserted island (optional) is popular!
Unlike the southwest coast, the uninhabited ‘Pigeon Island’ has white sand and calm waves, making it a great spot for snorkeling. There is also a diving spot nearby where you can see coral and colorful fish.
|Introducing Lion Royal, a popular resort in Trincomalee!
Jungle Beach Resort
A 5-star beach resort hotel in Trincomalee operated by the UGA Group, which owns several luxury resorts in Sri Lanka. Amaranthe Bay Resort
A luxury class resort facing the bayside. You can easily get to the beach by boat. The sophisticated design and the excellent service of the staff are among the best in Sri Lanka.
The view from the bathtub in the junior suite room is amazing, and this hotel is recommended for honeymoon couples.
